Danced Mass for the Philippines

Saturday, May 23rd, 2015 a beautiful experience  animated the Church of San Francesco in Acqui terme.

Need You has been a guest of our dear Fr Franco, along with Fr Joseph Pasia, on a visit to Italy from the Philippines.

For the first time we attended a sung and danced Mass: forty boys and children, students of our volunteer Saimir Balla who went on a mission in the Philippines last year, involved and excited all the believers who filled the church, dancing for their less fortunate peers in the Philippines.

The donations collected during the service will support the project "Shelter Home" for orphans that Father Joseph Pasia, former pastor of Lussito, returned to practice in his own country, wants to build in Manila.

It was a unique and exciting moment, during the Mass these guys were able to show their joy and their happiness by dancing for the whole church, conveying their love of dance, and their respect and happiness and Christianity.

I think Pope Francis would be happy, repeatedly he urged the believers to show with singing and dancing the happiness of having met Christ. To all this we add the value of solidarity, in a different and important context, and the guys did get their message really far. I guarantee you that this is exactly what happened, they managed to do a great work, getting directly to the heart of all of us, and very close to the hearts of really far and less fortunate children.

These are street children, orphans or forgotten, malnourished and therefore subject to all kinds of diseases, often left at the mercy of the local underworld. The existence of such situations is a real shame of humanity.

Of course these children who live so far away from us, at 8,000 kilometers, would never have imagined that other children from the other side of the could work for them, to help them to have a safe place where to live, to be cared for, fed and educated.

The world will improve only if we work all together, each of you who reads has the opportunity to do something

Don Orione used to say: "For God  jus your faith is not enough, He wants to see your work," and this is a great work.

Father Joseph Pasia, despite living so far away from us, has the same enthusiasm and love for our underprivileged children, what a beautiful collaboration with our town, Acqui Terme.

So come on, everyone can do something, and we will improve the world.

The volunteers behind the scenes that were so busy for the organization of the event have all my praise.

Saimir, Adnan and all the guys who danced were wonderful, humble and precious, they are the future of our world, and an example of values to be imitated. If these are the teachings, the world can be improved.
